Redmaids’ High School will provide a friendly, vibrant and welcoming environment with the best opportunities in the region for a wide range of girls with high aspirations to achieve their full personal, social and academic potential. This will be achieved through providing:
A first-class academic education – as a result of our ability to recruit exceptional teachers and pupils
Exceptional pastoral care and academic support – additional classes at all levels will ensure that each girl is taught in groups and small classes most appropriate for her learning
Success in performing arts, science, technology and creative arts – with greater investment in outstanding
people and resources
Excellence in sport, fitness and wellbeing – through an ever wider range of activities and improved facilities
An expanded co-curricular programme – to identify and nurture talent wherever it lies and to instil leadership, teamwork and independent thought
An enriched curriculum – there will be an even greater choice of subjects at GCSE and in the Sixth Form, including the option of A Levels or the world-class International Baccalaureate Diploma programme
Progression to leading universities and other institutions – ensuring that girls continue to gain their best possible results and win offers to prestigious universities such as Oxbridge, the Russell Group and other world-class institutions in the UK and overseas
Outstanding teaching staff – who will flourish within a modern and inspiring workplace
Redmaids’ High School will become a beacon for girls’ education in Bristol and beyond.
The existing Red Maids’ School campus will be substantially and sensitively developed and enhanced. Significant scholarships and bursaries will enable local girls from all backgrounds to benefit from the excellent education on offer. Redmaids’ High will continue to develop the generosity of spirit which helps us serve others near and far.
We will continue to extend our links with schools overseas and support schools closer to home – to share and act on the benefits of education and the responsibility that goes with it.
We will cherish our existing traditions in celebrating the Christian heritage of both schools, while welcoming students, staff and governors from all belief systems that respect the legitimate views of others. We emphasise the importance of rational thought as central to our education.
